Loving Wednesday

I have so much to be Loving this week -  I feel very blessed.

What I Loving -   Ashley Playhouse.  She wants to know if she can go outside and live in it.  I think it matches the swing set so nice.  We are going to be spending many summer nights out back.

I am Loving - Today the students only come to school for  an hour and half.  Then we are done - SUMMER VACATION STARTS.  We are having a cookout this afternoon  at a local park.  This is what I am taking.

Memorial Day Weekend 2011

Memorial Day Weekend was a very  fun busy weekend.  On Saturday it rained all day :(.  We had Austin Graduation party to go to.  My mom stayed with Ms. Ashley because she was napping and I ran over there.  I taught Austin in Middle School and now he is going to be attending the University of Illinois.  I love his Family they are so good to Ashley and I. The party was so nice.  Ashley loves Austin and his brother Ryan and of course their dog Bunker.

Sunday - We went to church and then we went off to Danville to celebrate with Kaitlyn she just graduated from the U of I.  Kaitlyn is Ashley favorite babysitter.  We are going to miss her greatly!!!!
Kaitlyn sister Whitney also just received her Masters.  We had a great time with family.  The food was also great

Monday - Ashley and I spent Sunday night with my parents in Rantoul.  We love staying with them.  We are both spoiled when we stay with them.  My mom helped me make some food to take to our life group pinic today.  My mom's friend at work showed my mom these Red White and Blue strawberries so we had to try them.  They were a hit at the party.  I will be making these again.

Then in the evening Ashley and I went to our Small Group pinic.  It was a good time.  We had smoked chicken, beef, and pork chops.  Makes me want to go out and buy a smoker.  It was  very good.  I also brought deviled eggs, and pasta salad and my lovely strawberries.  We also had baked beans, watermellon and cupcakes.

1. People always tell me I look like  my mom or my brother.

2. Friends don't let friends  drive drunk.  Also are there for them when things get rough.

3. A sunny day is perfect for being on the lazy river all afternoon.  Reading magazines going out for ice cream.

5. If I could afford it I would   go on all-inclusive vacation - spend time on a beach and buy fun stuff while I was away.  ( my mom would say a deck for my back yard.)

6. The cure for boredom is  to go spend money :)

7. I am currently "in like" with   cupcakes, and any dessert from the cake artists.  Farmers Market on Saturday morning.  I could spend lots of money there.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I am Loving - that this week I will be getting my pool pass for the summer.  Can not wait to spend the afternoons at the pool.

I am Loving - that next Friday is 8th grade Promotion. I get to take tickets at the door.  I love seeing all the families coming in all dressed up.  I need to figure out what I am going to wear.  I like these dresses.

1. Have you ever gone to see a movie by yourself?  

No, but I think I would - I think I am still waiting for Mr. Wonderful to invite me to the movies and dinner :)  

2. would you rather go through a tornado or a hurricane?

Neither - if I had to pick I would say Tornado - I just can't imagine all your stuff blowing around - what a mess it would be to pick up afterwords.  I always say I am going to make up a kit in case emergency would happen, with food, and water etc.

    

3. have you made summer vacation plans?    

 No, not yet but are hoping to do some day trips and a couple of over night trips -

                                                     

Just Hamburgers - Parcells use to have a restaurant in Rantoul IL, where I worked for them in high school my first real job.  Then they moved to KY - and I went off to school at Murray State - and would go and eat at there restaurant in Benton KY.  They catered my College graduation party in Murray.  To this day I still say they are going to cater my wedding.  ( We can all dream)

4. what's your favorite accessory?

5. have you ever been thrown a surprise party? No

6. are you friends with your neighbors?    

I do check on the lady next door she has lived there for 41 years.  I do not really know my neighbors I wish I did.  I wish we had cook outs and block parties together.

7. what's the last movie you saw in the theater? 

It was Meet the Fockers 2 - I went with Tracey and River - they love movies.

8.  What's your favorite food network show?    

 I don't really watch any food network shows.  I always think I am going to watch the cupcake wars.  I have a friend that watches that one each week and her and her husband get cupcakes and watch every week.

Loving Wednesday

I am Loving - that today is a half day of school.  We have meetings in the afternoon.  Except the energy is always high when the kids have a half day.  (ask me how I feel on Thursday when it is hard for the kids to focus - Lol remember I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade)

I am Loving - my Life group - Ashley just loves it - you should hear her say is it time to go to "small group".  We are doing a study Growing Kids Gods Way - by Gary and Anne Marie Ezzo.

I am Loving - 16 more days till School is out! It still seems like too many.  My first year of teaching our principal did not like us to count down the days - so I do not really get into counting  ( I been teaching for 14 years now)- but there are some teachers that have it down to the second.  Now that I have Ashley I do look forward to summer!

 It was beautiful here today -  I think summer is coming!!!

Happy Mothers Day

                                        HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Ashley and I had a wonderful day with my mom.  Grandma  went to  Big church with us.  Then we went out to eat.  Ashley was very enjoyable while we were out at lunch - she got her money worth by eating watermelon, cheese, applesauce. :)  Ashley sang us her song they learned at school.  It was priceless.  At one time Ashley looked around the resturant and said there are lots of Grandma's here.

Loving Wednesday

Congratulations! 

 I made it 26.2 miles on Saturday and the 5 K on Friday night!

More than 18,000 runners and walkers participated in this weekend’s events, and more than 3,000 volunteers. Fantastic

I am Loving - that it is May and school is almost out.  ( I teach summer school but its Drivers Ed - everyone wants to drive)

I am Loving - that Sunday is Mothers Day and that I still have my mom - and that she is my best friend!!!!

I am Loving - that we are able to link up every Wed with what we are loving - today I was feeling like how did I get this life -   Why have I not met Mr. Right - why is it so hard to keep up with the house? Why do I have to do the yard work - why did I wait so long that its too high to cut!! Why is gas so expensive!! Why is Ashley not potty trained yet!!!!
Then I think about other people lives and what they are going threw  I would not want to trade with them.  I just need to keep plugging away. I need to go back to recording what I am thankful for.  Remembering  that  Eucharisteo - precedes the miracle.

Loving Wednesday

I am Loving - That today is our Running Club dinner - they are getting their shirts that we will all wear on Friday.

I am Loving -  3 days till Race Weekend.  We have the 5K on Friday night and the BIG RACE Saturday.
Also Sebastian and Ashley are running in the youth race at 2:30. 
I think she is going to LOVE IT!  ( I hope she finishes strong)

I am Loving - that Sunday is Whitney shower.  I remember babysitting for Whitney when she was little and lived in Campaign. ( pray that I am feeling OK after the race)

Loving Wednesday

I am Loving -  17 more days till the 5K race -  We have 30 kids registered.  They are still coming to practice!

I am Loving - 18 more days till the Marathon - Please pray that I finish -  I am getting nervous!!!!

I am Loving - 19 more days till Whitney's  Wedding Shower.  I love are family get together.  Its a Rock around the Clock party.  Every person is given a time and you are to bring a gift that goes with that time.   I have 7 p.m.   Any Ideas?  What about my aunt who has 5 a.m.?

I am Loving - that it is almost time for the Pool to open.  This is where I spend my afternoons in the summer :)

I am Loving - Ashley - she loves her rain boots.  We are still waiting for her new bed to come :)

SPRING IS COMING!!!!!!

I took the following to a adoption potluck - families that have adopted or interesting in adoption had a get together.

RAINBOW RIBBON -

Prep Time - 3 hours   Chill time:  4 hours or overnight

5 pkg -  ( 4 serving size) Jell-O Gelatin Dessert any 5 different flavors.

6 1/4 Boiling Water

1 Cup sour cream, plain yogurt or Vanilla ice Cream ( you pick)

Dissolve 1 pkg Gelatin Dessert

in 1 1/4 ( 300 ml) of the boiling water.

Pour - 3/4 cup (175 mL) of the gelatin into 8 cup (2L) ring mold.  Chill until set but not firm, about 15 minutes.

Chill - remaining gelatin in bowl until slightly thickened; gradually blend in 3 Tbsp (45 ml) of the sour cream.  Spoon over gelatin in mold.  Chill until set but not firm, about 20 to 25 minutes.

Repeat - with Remaining gelatin flavors

Chill - until firm, about 4 hours or overnight.

To Unmold,  dip mold in warm water for about 10 seconds. Gently pull gelatin from around edges with moist fingers.  Place a moistened serving plate on top of mold.  Invert mold  and plate; holding mold and plate together, shake slightly to loosen.  Gently remove mold and center gelatin on plate.

Tip - Use a wire wisk to add sour cream for a smoother gelatin mixture.

Next time I think I wil add fruit in the middle and strawberries dipped in cholate around the edges.  The light color is watermellon - so next time I would use a more colorful flavor.
