1st day of Track Practice

Today was back to work after a week off for Spring Break.  It was not so bad because it was also the first day of 4th qt.  So that means 9 weeks 66 days 1585 hours till Summer Vacation.  Have you tried the new Legacy app?  It will count down your big events for you.  I saw that you our to put your kids age in and it tells you when your child  should graduate from high school.  It is trying to make you live everyday to the fullest.

Today was also the first day of track practice.  We had 67 middle school students at practice today.  I am little overwelmed - the sport is so new to them.  Our first meet is in two weeks.

Last night we had a potluck with our life group.  We had really good food.  I should of taken pictures.  It was lots of fun.  Our wine also came in that we got from a wine tasting party we had a few weeks ago.  I can't wait to open it up.  Trying to think of a special reason to open the bottle.

Email came today about Ashley T-Ball that is starting in May.  I am so excited to see her play.  They said first few weeks will be practice and they will play the last 2 weeks some games.  Sounds like it is going to be very low key.  What ever happened to just getting out there and playing?

Agh Little D was in trouble again at school for punching a classmate and then hitting the teacher.  I just don't know what to do.  I am getting nervous that they might kick him out of daycare......  Fostering can be really hard at times.

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Monday.  I can't wait to see what Tuesday brings..........

Sunday Social

Today I thought it would be fun to link up Neely & Ashley for Sunday Social.  Here our this weeks questions.

What is your ideal way to relax:  I would say a hot bubble bath, with wine, reading a magazine.

Where is your favorite place to be:  I love to be at my parents house or off on a short getway trip.

Who do you consider your biggest role model:  My mother she does so much for me.  I would be so lost without her.  She is my bestfriend.

What does your life look like in 3 years?  I will be in my 20th year of teaching most likely at Franklin.  Ashley will be 9.  I start hyperventling just thinking about it.  Hopefully still blogging with more followers :).

If you could go back and change one decision what would it be?  Early in my teaching career I would of tried harder for a high school teaching job and would of bought a house when I first got a job.

What is your biggest accomplishment in life thus far?  I would say graduating from college and also receiving my master degree.  I also think being a single mother is a huge accomplishment.

Next Weeks Questions:
1. When did you join twitter?
2. Who is your favorite non-celeb to follow?
3. Who is your favorite celeb to follow?
4. Have you ever had a celeb respond to a tweet?

5. What is your favorite store/brand to follow?
6. Give us three tweeps we should be following.

I hope you link up with the Sunday Social.  I also can't believe Spring Break is over.  On the bright side its 9 weeks till summer vacation.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

A day late.  We our just really enjoying Spring Break.  If the weather was just a little nicer.

I am loving that today Ashley and I spent the day with my mom.

Our first stop was at  PJ Fresh in Oakwood.  They sell just about anything.  They sell fresh cinnabons.  We had to each have a hot fresh cinnabon.  I had been telling my mom we should go there just to eat.  They have a hot food bar with like 4 different soups.

Then we were off to Danville to shop.   I love that they have a Burlington Coat Factory, Ross for Less, and Cato's.  Champaign does not have these stores.  Ashley got a really cute pink coat from Grandma for $10.00 it has cute has pink flowers on it.  I saw a few things did not get them.  Now  I am ready to go back and get them.

Ashley had to take a picture of the fish at the Danville mall.

We also went to lunch at the Beef House  in Covington, IN.  My favorite place to eat they our know for their rolls and strawberry jam.  It was our first time taking Ashley.  She has been to the banquet center for weddings receptions but not in the main restaurant.  She was great, she sat in her own chair ( that is a big accoplishment for Ashley).  Loved the rolls and strawberry jam.

Ashley thought they had the best jello - she had red and yellow jello, croutons, cheese and a roll with lots of strawberry jam on it.

When we go to the beef house we always take pictures outside.

I will Cherish this picture Ashley and I first picture outside the beef house.  Can't wait to take one when she graduating from high school.

I like this one also - grandma did not really want her picture taken.  I can't believe its spring break and we are dressed for winter. I really enjoy going but I was sad at the same time that my dad is not able to go anymore cause of his health.   He really loved the beef house and would always take us.  I almost had portabella mushrooms in his honor. I remember going to the Beef House for my Grandpa's retirement party.  I got a new Jordache outfit for the occasion.   I just hope Ashley loves the Beef House as much as I did growing up and has found memories of her time there.

Ashley with her new coat on.  Ah I should of been closer.  Ashley loves her grandma - she has been spoiled this week hanging out with her every day.

Tuesday

It's post to be Spring.  Except this is what we woke up to today.

Snow, nice weather is hopefully coming.  We got up this morning and Ashley wanted to go to El Toro for breakfast.  So we meet grandma for breakfast.

Then we went home.  I worked on some laundry.  Then I decided I better go and renew my Illinois Drivers license.  It should of been done last week.  I dread going to the Secretary of State office.  I took Ashley with me and we had to wait an hour and half just to renew my license.  I did not even have to take a test.  It is just always that busy.  Ashley was really good waiting with me - she played on the phone.  When we left I had her take my picture with my renewed license.

When we left we went to Sonic - I was thinking it was 2:00 for Happy Hour.  I was 8 min early.  Had to pay full price - AH this has happened to me twice in the last week.

Then we went with grandma to the mall.  She had a $10.00 certificate for her birthday from Victoria Secret that she let me use.  I got me some new lip gloss.  Ashley loves to play at the play area in the mall.

Ashley been begging to go back to Skateland.  Tuesday night is $2.00 for skates, $2.00 for rental, $2.00 for Lazar tag, $2.00 for pizza and pop.  So I told her I would take her tonight.  Oh my goodness it was packed....  Not sure I will do that again it was only from 6:00 - 8:00.  Not sure it was worth fighting all the people.

The line rapped around the building to get in it took a good 30 mins to get in.  Plus it was really cold waiting outside.

We finally got in. While we were waiting in line there was almost a fight behind us cause this lady just walked up and cut in line.  There were a bunch of middle school kids in front of us.  They did not go to Franklin but they were pushing each other.  I finally said to stop pushing and they did but started whispering who said that?  Ashley looked up at me in horror and said something like that's really going to help.  I could not help it my teacher ness just comes out.  I think that might be why Raphael does not want me to chaperon any of his activities.

Ashley loves skating she just wants to be able to go so fast and join in with all the kids.  Here we our at the skating rink.

Here Ashley at the Skating rink - she is getting so big.  Before long I will just be dropping her off.

Monday - Day 1 of Spring Break

No rest on day 1 of spring break.  We were up at the normal time.  Ashley had to be at the dentist at 7:50 a.m.  She did a great job at the dentist.

This picture is pitiful but so Ashley.  I told her if she did a good job and did not act a fool at the dentist she could have a special treat today.  Of course Ashley wanted a

It's a furbling - it is the baby that goes along with the furby boom.  You play the furby boom with your tablet or Ipad or IPhone.  Of course our furby boom or furbling is not scanning on our tablet and she is using my IPhone to play with the furbies.  I think I know what my summer drive money is going to an Ipad.

It was nice after the dentist Ashley and I went to Atlanta bread.  She loves to have hot chocolate out.  Then I went off to a meeting at DCFS for "Little D".  Ugh if only I could change the system.  Bio mom did not show up.....  Next court date is June.  It's so unfair kids do not deserve to be treated like this.

Then I had lunch with a dear friend Jamie who is also a foster parent.  We tried to solve the world problems but we our still in the same boat :)

Tonight "Little D" had his O.T. appointment.  He is improving just after a few sessions.  So that is encouraging.  I love his therapist.

I am excited no alarms set for tomorrow morning.  I will have to see what Ashley has on the agenda for us tomorrow.

Spring Break

Spring Break is finally here.  We our not off to Destin this year.  I guess I should start planning and saving for a spring break trip for next year.  There is something about getting away this time of year.  This year we our going to stay around here and do little day trips.

This morning was the first day of Prairie Fruits open houses on the farm.  I was brave and took Ashley, Little D and Sebastion out to the farm to see the goats.  They make their own cheese and have dinners on the farm.  I would love to go to one of their dinners except they our $125.00 a person.  Lets say I have not met anyone willing to go with me.  The price seems really high but I think it would be so awesome to experience. Of course if money was no object.

At the farm today they were selling goat salted Carmel's. I had in my mind before I went that I wanted to get some.  I was thinking in my mind they would be around $5.00.  I was thinking it was spring break I deserve a treat.

They were not hard like the carmel I usually eat.  They melted in your mouth. They had about 5 in a package.  I should of looked on the board because I ordered a pecan roll and the carmels and my bill was $12.50.  The carmel's were $8.00 - so about $1.60 each.  My dad always said if you have to ask how much something is - you can't afford it.  Happy Spring Break to me :)  I really do wish that I supported more mom and pop bussiness more then the big box stores.

It was fun to see the goats and to share the roll and have a drinkable yogurt from 100% grassfeed from Arthur.  I liked it the kids did not.

I hope to go back on Saturday morning before the Farmers Market open.  They our planning on having a sit down brunch on 2 Saturdays in May.  I hope to buy some tickets and go enjoy that experience.

Tomorrow is church and I have to make the meal for our small group.  I worked on the meal today.  Illini play tomorrow at 10:00  a.m. in the NIT.  We our not in the big dance this year.

I can't wait to see what fun we have this week on Spring Break.  I love it when I get to spend my days with Ashley.
